According to the Saudi Press Agency, petrified tree trunks are found at the Hazm Abu Ruwais archaeological site, roughly 40 kilometres east of Al-Ajlyah in Al-Aflaj Governorate. They belong to a petrified forest chain extending about 1,000 kilometres, running from Ard Al-Mustawi in the Qassim Region to the western edge of the Empty Quarter. The site has become a destination for overlanders and visitors interested in geological heritage.
