A landing page takes three to seven days. A five-to-ten-page company site in two languages takes two to six weeks. An online store takes four to ten weeks. But the factor that delays projects more than the programming itself is content: text, images, and the logo. Projects where all the material arrives ready on signing day typically finish in half the expected time.
Timeline is set by three factors, only one of which is in the developer’s hands. First, the count of screens and states rather than pages — a page with three states (empty, loaded, error) is three pieces of work, not one. Second, the number of external integrations, each carrying waiting time that cannot be compressed: documentation, a test account, approvals.
Third — the most consequential in practice and the least discussed — your own speed. Whether content, images and copy are ready, how fast decision questions get answered, and whether one person is empowered to approve. Projects that slip usually slip here rather than in the code: waiting on content that never arrives, or a review passing through five people.
This is why work ships in phases: you see a working version early instead of waiting for completion, and any drift in understanding surfaces in week two rather than month four, when correcting it is expensive.
