How do I know whether a process is worth automating? — answered by Engineer Saeed Baatiah
Compute it from three numbers: how often it repeats monthly, how many minutes each run takes, and the hourly cost of the employee doing it. Multiply the first by the second, divide by sixty for monthly hours, then multiply by the hourly cost. If the annual result exceeds the automation cost, it is worth it. Then add a factor the arithmetic misses but that is often larger: the value of the errors that stop happening.
